Invasive Fungal Disease: Emerging Paradigms & Practical Applications -- Quisque volutpat mattis Donec nec justo eget felis facilisis fermentum. Aliquam porttitor mauris sit amet orci. Aenean dignissim pellentesque felis. -- Get Up to Date in the Management of Invasive Fungal Disease (IFD) Join us in New Orleans as we work to break the mold with emerging strategies for filamentous foes! Rationale: Invasive mold infections, historically difficult to diagnose and manage, typically carry high mortality rates. With growing numbers of at-risk immunocompromised patients, these infections are driving increases in the overall mortality rate for invasive fungal infections. Fortunately, the diagnostic and therapeutic armamentarium for these challenging infections is growing. Recently, the IDSA issued new invasive aspergillosis guidelines, and the experience in management of other molds is also growing. Expert-led discussion should help put the guidelines/newer management strategies in context and provide insights into how to translate them in clinical practice. This symposium brings together faculty with expertise in invasive aspergillosis, invasive mucormycosis, and other rare invasive molds to discuss emerging strategies for managing these difficult infections. Use of the Array⢠iPad technology and interactive cases enhances this highly interactive symposium.
